1. Please be sure to SIGN IN and ENABLE the "Auto-Save Builds" feature BEFORE you get started if you want to Save your Build. <
You can always use the editor without logging in, BUT, this page Will Refresh, to enable any/all features you have unlocked When You Sign In. Any selections made to the current build will be lost when the page refreshes.
Once signed-in, you will be able to SAVE the builds you create, or LOAD them for continued work.
The Auto Save feature, when enabled, will save your progress every 60 seconds, and immediately after making any major Set or Skill selections. Should you navigate away from the site for any reason, when you return to the editor page, you will be able to "Restore your previous session"
The Auto Save feature can always be disabled/enabled in your user settings.
2. Make use of the Advanced Search Features in the Skills, Sets, and Consumable windows to find the options that will best suit YOUR needs. You can search for specific stats, effects, buffs, or procs, and the results will always be displayed for you by MOST effective to least effective.
Try searching for specific stats or buffs that you are looking to add to your build when considering the skills or sets to use. The results in our Gear Selection window will be sorted by Greatest to Least based on the relevance to the stat you are looking for. This can be extremely helpful with finding all options that will best suit a particular build idea you are aiming to create.
You can use direct matching phrases like "when you take damage" or keywords like "summons", "flame", "courage", or "overheal" in your searches to pinpoint options you may have otherwise overlooked.
3. Our Gear Editor Window has some Auto-Equip features to help speed your build creation process, and / or to help you understand how different build setups like a Front / Backbar split can be made.
Making a weapon selection, you will see "Equip 5 Piece – Weapon & Jewelry" as well as either a "5pc Frontbar Split" or "5pc Backbar Split" … The Weapon and Jewelry option is pretty straight forward, but the split options are pretty awesome.
Frontbar split will always equip Your Weapons (dual weapons if a 1h weapon type is chosen), a Necklace, Hands, and Leg items for your desired set … along with a Malacath's Mythic Ring (placeholder for quick mythic setup) and a Heavy Chest item from the Trainee Set (to either be kept or treated like a placeholder).
Backbar split will always equip Your Weapons (dual weapons if a 1h weapon type is chosen), a Ring, Belt, and Feet items for your desired set … along with the Malacath's Mythic Ring (placeholder for quick mythic setup) and a Heavy Chest item from the Trainee Set (to either be kept or treated like a placeholder).
If you plan to use a sword and shield on your build, try selecting the shield first instead of the primary weapon … the same 5pc and split options will be available, but this will trigger the sword & shield pair instead of a dual wield or 2h weapon setup.
Selecting a Head or Shoulder Item, should you select a Monster Set … you will see an option to "Equip Monster Set" in addition to just Equip Item. This will slot both the Head and Shoulder item from your selected set, with matching weights, traits, and enchants.
Selecting an Armor item for one of the other 5 main body slots … you will see an "Equip 5 Piece Set – Body" option that will follow the same process to equip all 5 matching items.
Selecting any Jewelry item, you will see a "Equip 3 Piece Jewelry" option. Just always remember that you can go back in and edit specific traits or enchants on every item after it has been slotted.
With these quick slot options you can really speed up your Build Creation Process! Try using the 5pc Weapon and Jewelry, 5pc Body, and Monster Set quick slot options … or … Frontbar Split, Backbar Split, and Monster Set options … while you will likely want to adjust some traits, enchants, or the mythic item used … this quick setup lays the groundwork for a split build with two 5pc sets, a mythic item, a full monster set, and One added Trainee (or other set) Chest item for added stats.
4. All Passive Skills are auto-enabled and calculated into your Buffs & Stats when you slot a skill from that skill line, keep this in mind. All Skills use Max tier (fully leveled) values for the base skills as well as their morphs, the values for freshly unlocked skills may not match those used here until they have been fully leveled in game.
At this time we are doing our best to avoid the need for Skill Points calculations on our site, both the number of available skill points, as well as the required skill points to purchase all skills used within a build, as this will be constantly evolving for all players. If you need more skill points in game in order to complete a build, it may be time to quest or go collect more skyshards. Don't forget, ALL SKILLS from a SUBCLASSED SKILL LINE will require double the skill points to purchase.
5. Since build creation and planning almost always focuses on a build's maximum potential, and the various tiered values for each Champion Point Skill adds multiple levels of calculation complexity, we are SIMPLIFYING the CHAMPION POINT SYSTEM here on The Elder Spores Online for both speed of use and efficiency in planning.
Champion Points will always use the Max tier values, and no partial tier values will be available.
Take advantage of the "Fill Passives" button when starting a new build if you are not worried about having enough Champion Points … it's an amazing time saver that we wish was available in game. Just tap that button then focus on what 4 slotted skills you want for each constellation ... That's it.
6. Many Buffs and Bonuses from your Skills and/or Sets require certain "conditions" to be met before they are calculated. To this regard, you will find that our Stats display will allow you to check you inactive "Unbuffed" values while on your Front, Back, or Werewolf bars, as well as the "Fully Buffed" stats potential.
The "Unbuffed" default option is representative of your buffs / stats while out of combat and without casting any skills to buff, it also includes buffs that are active "while slotted" as well as stats of buffs from your food / drink and potions.
The "Fully Buffed" option adds in all of the combat / cast required / other conditional buffs and stats to show you the full potential within your build. This can include other bonus effects with conditions such as "after killing an enemy" or "while flanking" that would otherwise be blocked while "Unbuffed."
7. Most Skills Effects Scale based on your build's maximum resources such as Maximum Stamina, Maximum Magicka, and in some cases Maximum Health or your Total Resistances.
While these max stats will make a difference in your skill's effects they also will expand your resource pools and survivability. Depending on your choice of role, you may not always think to build and focus on your Spell Damage or Weapon Damage, but these stats are not only for DPS roles.
Weapon & Spell Damage are, in most cases, the stats that will effect the potency of your skills the most. This means higher weapon/spell damage will result in stronger effects on both Damage and Healing Skills.
Some skills will scale specifically off of your Max Health, and it's good to know that your Bash Damage is directly related to your Total Resistances !!! So if you plan on Blocking and Bashing your way through the battlefields, load up on your Resistances.
Our Buff / Stat Tracking system aims to replicate the values you might expect to see in game to help you fine tune your builds. Using those dynamically calculated stats, our Skill & Set Tool-tips also aim to provide the most accurate and dynamically calculated values so that you can see how changes to your stats will affect your performance and the particular build you are working with.
8. You can Toggle various Buffs on or Off to see how they will affect not only your listed stats, but also the Tool-tips on the Skills and Equipment you have slotted. This includes Buffs produced from within your build, as well as possible External Buffs you might get in a group situation. Swapping Bars or the Unbuffed vs Fully Buffed options will always reset any manual buffs toggled for testing. And just in case you are wondering, Buffs that are manually toggled on, will NOT be SAVED with a build, so shared builds can not be over inflated with buffs improperly.
9. If you are planning for PvP content, and want to see your stats with the various PvP / Cyrodiil related buffs ... try Selecting a PvP option in the Primary Content Drop-down, to make them available in the Buffs/Stats display.
All PvP related content options will enable the Battle Spirit Buff / Debuff which can be toggled on or off for testing purposes.
The Cyrodiil option will further add the option for you to test how various bonuses might play out and effect your stats when you or your alliance capture and hold possession of Scrolls, Keeps, or even the current Emperor status. This is also where you might want to enable or disable the Alliance Skill Line passives, which include effects related to capturing Cyrodiil Resources locations and/or proximity to Keeps or Outposts.
10. Please keep in mind that none of our data has been copied or scraped from other online sources. Instead we use our own, direct API extracted databases, custom calculations, and notations to provide you with the most accurate details possible. While this generally means even greater accuracy, errors can and will occur, especially when major game updates occur and the site, along with the many databases we maintain, have to be updated. Please report any Issues you may encounter using our Built-in Reporting system, and Reishi will do his best to make it right as soon as possible.
11. Our Build Editor follows and enforces ESO's rules and restrictions related to equipping skills, mythic items, weapons, and more ... This means you can not slot the same skill with different morphs, multiple mythic items at one time, or anything else that would not otherwise be allowed in game. Having these rules locked into the editor, and therefore all of the builds on our site, helps us, and you as users, create and find builds that you can trust with honesty and integrity.
12. While using the Editor to Create and Improve your own builds IS TOTALLY FREE, along with your ability to VIEW, VOTE ON, and COMMENT ON the builds that others have shared... a SUBSCRIPTION IS REQUIRED to Share Your Builds Publicly on our site. But Why?? This is a passion project for the community to use, not an official or sponsored site from Bethesda or ZoS, and it has various upkeep and maintenance costs associated with keeping it running. With this in mind we hope you understand the need for subscriptions, and choose to support this project so that it can continue to grow for years to come.
13. As a Final Note ... We just want you to have FUN while Learning, Building, Sharing, and Helping Others while gaining access to the carefully developed tools we have created for you.
Don't be afraid to try something odd or crazy ... it might just end up being the most fun you have had in game in a long time!
You don't have to BE THE BEST, or copy from the best, to be successful in ESO, you just have to have fun, stick with it, and be willing to learn and try new things. There are so many seldom used, rarely spoken of, or even forgotten sets in ESO that can still be Viable and contribute to a successful build without needing to be THE CURRENT META. Focus on FUN, build for success, and enjoy your Adventures in Tamriel. ~ Cheers ~
